FMT15101E - 151Mhz 1-Channel Wireless Control with Up to 5km Range

The Elsema FMT15101E is a fixed location, single channel transmitter designed for reliable wireless control across farms, industrial facilities, mining sites and other large properties. Operating on the Australian 151MHz frequency band, it can provide a line of sight range of up to 5km when correctly installed with a suitable external antenna.

A voltage-free Normally Open input allows the transmitter to be activated by equipment such as a push button, relay contact, float switch, reed switch or compatible control system. When the input is triggered, the FMT15101E sends a signal to a matching Elsema FMR Series receiver, allowing equipment to be controlled without running a cable over the full distance.

Selectable continuous, one-burst and off-delay transmission modes provide flexibility for applications including remote pump activation, water-level monitoring, floodlight control, alarms, gates and industrial automation.

The transmitter is powered by 12V DC and uses Elsema’s 12-way DIP switch coding system for straightforward setup with compatible FMR receivers.

Important: An external antenna is required. Elsema recommends the ANT151M antenna for optimum long-range performance. Actual operating range depends on the antenna, installation height, terrain, surrounding structures and local conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the maximum operating range of the FMT series transmitter?

The FMT series is designed for long range applications, offering a line of sight operating range of 5,000 metres (5km).  This range is dependent on the type of antenna used and the specific installation environment.

How does the 151MHz frequency perform in industrial environments?

The 151MHz frequency is highly resistant to both natural and man-made electrical interference.  This makes it ideal choice for mining sites, agricultural areas and heavy industrial settings where electrical noise is common.

What are the power requirements for the FMT series?

The fixed location transmitters require a 12V DC power supply with a current consumption of 85mA during transmission and a very low standby current of 10uA.

How do I program the transmitter to the reciever?

FMT uses a 12-way dipswitch for digital coding.  To pair the devices, simply match the Dipswitch setting in the transmitter to those on your FMR receiver.  It is recommended to change these from the factory default for security.

Are there different transmission modes available?

Yes, the FMT series features selectable transmission modes including Continuous Transmission, OFF delay and one burst transmission.  These modes allow users to customise how the signal is sent based on your specific application.

What types of inputs can be connected to the transmitter?

The transmitter is deigned to interface with any Normally Open (OP) voltage-free contact. This includes push buttons, toggle switches, reed switches, or relay contacts from other control systems.

Can the operating frequency be changed?

The transmitter provides 8 user selectable frequencies within the 151MHz band.  These can be adjusted via a 3-way DIP Switch on the board, allowing multiple systems to operate in the same vicinity without interfering with one another.

Is an External antenna required?

Yes, the transmitter includes an antenna connection (SO239 socket), for optimum performance the ANT151M is recommended.

Why can I not use this remote outside of Australia?

This particular model operates in the Australian 151MHz frequency band and should not be purchased for overseas use without first confirming local radio-frequency regulations.

  • NZ - Modified to work on 161MHz
  • US/Canada - Modified to work 154MHZ

Modification is required during the manufacturing process.
