The NICE FT210 is a wireless safety beam designed to help detect people, vehicles and other objects within the gate's opening or closing path. When the safety beam is interrupted, it sends a signal to the gate motor, allowing the gate to stop and, depending on the motor setup, reverse away from the obstruction.
The FT210 consists of two parts:
- Transmitter (TX) – A battery-powered infrared safety beam that is positioned on the gate or near the entry/exit, opposite the gate motor.
- Receiver (RX) – Wired into the gate motor/control board and mounted on a fixed wall or post opposite the transmitter.
The transmitter sends an infrared beam to the receiver. If a person, vehicle or object passes through and interrupts the beam while the gate is operating, the FT210 signals the gate motor to respond.
When correctly connected and configured for the closing cycle, interruption of the safety beam will typically cause the gate to stop and reverse, helping reduce the risk of the gate closing onto a person, vehicle or other obstruction.
