MD2010 - Advanced Vehicle Detection for Gates, Boom Gates & Access Control Systems
The Elsema MD2010 Vehicle Loop Detector provides reliable vehicle detection for automatic gates, boom gates and access control systems. With adjustable sensitivity, selectable pulse or presence output modes and a wide operating voltage range (12–24V DC / 16–24V AC), it integrates easily into new or existing installations. Compact, durable and energy-efficient, the MD2010 delivers accurate vehicle sensing for safety, automation control and high-traffic environments such as commercial sites, carparks and industrial access points.
Includes:
- Genuine Elsema Vehicle Loop Detector – MD2010
Key Features:
- Wide Voltage Range for Versatile Use: Compatible with both DC and AC power supplies, the Elsema MD2010 operates on:
- 12V – 24V DC
- 16V – 24V AC
This flexibility makes it ideal for integration into new and existing gate automation systems.
- Customisable Sensitivity Settings : Easily fine-tune the loop detector to meet the needs of your site. Adjustable sensitivity settings allow accurate detection over different surfaces—ensuring optimal performance whether installed in concrete, asphalt, or pavers.
- Selectable Relay Output Modes: Choose between Pulse Mode (sends a momentary signal when a vehicle is detected) or Presence Mode (sends a continuous signal while the vehicle remains over the loop). This allows precise control for a wide variety of automation scenarios, from simple gate opening to timed operations or safety interlocks.
- Visual LED Indicators: Built-in LED indicators provide clear, real-time feedback on the unit’s status:
- Power Indicator
- Loop Activation Indicator: These help simplify installation and diagnostics, reducing setup time and maintenance.
- Compact & Durable Design: Measuring just 110mm x 55mm x 35mm, the MD2010 fits easily into tight spaces and control enclosures. Despite its small size, it’s built tough to withstand high-traffic environments, making it a dependable solution for busy entry points.
- Energy Efficient & Reliable: The MD2010 is engineered for low power consumption and high operational reliability, providing long-term performance with minimal maintenance.
How It Works:
The Elsema MD2010 uses digital inductive loop technology to detect the presence of metal vehicles. A loop of insulated wire is installed in the driveway or road surface. When a vehicle passes over or stops on the loop, the inductance changes. This change is detected by the loop detector and triggers the relay output.
- Pulse Mode: Used for gate or boom pole activation upon vehicle arrival.
- Presence Mode: Ideal for keeping gates open while a vehicle remains in the detection area, improving safety and flow.
Ideal Applications:
The MD2010 is suitable for a wide range of vehicle detection and automation applications, including:
- Automatic Swing & Sliding Gate Systems
- Boom Gate Activation & Control
- Vehicle Access Control for Commercial Sites
- Traffic Monitoring & Flow Management
- Industrial and Mining Site Automation
- Multi-Tenant or Secure Facility Access Systems
