B&D TB5 Remote Replacement - TB5v2
B&D TB5 Remote Replacement - TB5v2
Discontinued Item
The B&D TB5v2 remote (red case with four triangular grey buttons) was a widely used remote introduced alongside B&D’s transition to the enhanced TriTran+ 128-bit security platform. Unlike its predecessor, the TB5v1 (black buttons)—which worked only with 64-bit TriTran systems—the TB5v2 offered backwards compatibility, operating seamlessly with both the earlier 64-bit and the newer 128-bit TriTran models. The B&D TB5 remote replacement is now the B&D TB7 Remote.
The TB5v2 remained in service for many years before being discontinued due to the introduction of Australia’s lithium coin battery safety laws, which the original TB5v2 casing could not comply with. This change prompted B&D to release the TB6 remote, and shortly after, a redesign saw the introduction of the B&D TB7, which adopted the updated shell style shared with Automatic Technology remotes.
