Automatic Technology PTX 5v2 Remote
Automatic Technology PTX 5v2 Remote
Discontinued Item
The ATA PTX 5v2 is the grey button TrioCode remote introduced during Automatic Technology's upgrade from 64bit to 128bit encryption, offering full backward compatibility across all TrioCode systems. Although now discontinued due to lithium coin battery legislations, a genuine compatible replacement is available.
The PTX5v2 was first released when Automatic Technology Australia (now known as Automatic Technology) transitioned the TrioCode platform from 64bit to 128bit encryption, marking a major improvement in security and performance. To clearly distinguish the upgrade, ATA changed the PTX5 remote from orange buttons (PTX5v1) to grey buttons (PTX5v2).
While the PTV5v1 worked only with the earlier 64 bit receivers, the PTX5v2 was fully backwards compatible pairing searmlessly with both 64bit and 128bit TrioCode systems. Because of this broad compatibility, it became one of ATA's most widely used remotes for many years.
The PTX5v2 remained in production until the introdction of new Australian lithium coin battery safety regulations, which required secure child-safe battery compartments. As the PTx5v2 did not meet these strict new standards, it was officially discontinued. A genuine, complaint replacment remote is available and offers the same functionality whilst meeting all the current AS/NZS safety and battery security requirements.
