LEXO 400 Capacity Receiver Wiring Guide
The LEXO Automation 400 Capacity Receiver is a 2-channel receiver designed to connect to a wide range of garage door and gate openers.
Depending on your motor's control board, the receiver can be installed using either a 3-wire or 4-wire connection.
Before You Begin – Important Information
Not all garage and gate motors use the same wiring configuration.
Before connecting the receiver, you must identify the correct terminals on your existing motor or control board. Refer to your motor's installation manual to confirm the power supply, common and activation terminals.
Power Supply Requirements
- The LEXO Receiver operates on 12–24V AC or DC.
- Power may be drawn directly from your motor's accessory power terminals, provided the supply is compatible with the receiver and does not exceed its rated voltage.
- Some Merlin, ATA and B&D motors have higher-voltage outputs and may require a separate 12–24V power supply (powerpack).
- Never connect the receiver directly to a supply exceeding 24V or to mains voltage.
IMPORTANT: Do not assume terminal positions or functions based on another motor model. Incorrect wiring may damage your receiver or motor control board.
Always disconnect power before commencing installation. If you are unsure of the correct connections, consult a qualified installer.
How to Wire in the 400 Capacity Receiver

Using the 4-Wire Setup
A 4-wire setup is used when the motor provides separate power supply and activation terminals.
Four connections are required:
- N/O: Connect to the motor's designated activation or push-button input.
- COM: Connect to the motor's designated common activation terminal.
- POS: Connect to the compatible power supply output.
- GND: Connect to the corresponding power supply return.
Use Channel 1 or Channel 2 as required.
Using the 3-Wire Setup
A 3-wire setup may be used on compatible motor control boards where the power supply return and activation common share the same electrical reference.
Three external connections are required:
- N/O: Connect to the motor's activation or push-button input.
- POS: Connect to the compatible power supply output.
- GND: Connect to the motor's designated negative/common supply terminal.
A short jumper wire is installed between the receiver's GND and the COM terminal of the selected channel.
IMPORTANT: Only use this configuration where the motor manufacturer confirms that the power supply return and activation common may be connected together.
Never connect POS (+) directly to GND (−) or COM.
