Which Elsema 4G GSM Controller Is Right for You? A Guide to the G4000, G5000, and G5000+ Retro Remotes

Which Elsema 4G GSM Controller Is Right for You? A Guide to the G4000, G5000, and G5000+

Future Ready Access: GSM Units by Elsema for Gate and Equipment Control

This guide outlines the specifications and ideal use for Elsema G4000, G5000 and G5000+ to help you determine which 4G GSM controller best fits your needs.  All three devices are Australian designed and owned operating anywhere a 4G network is available.

The G4000: The Access Control Specialist

The G4000 is primarily designed as a 4G GSM Dialler and Gate Opener.  It is the recommended upgrade path for the legacy G-2000 and G-2025 models.

Key Advantages:

It operated via a free phone call.  The device recognises the caller ID of an authorised user, rejects the call to avoid charges, and triggers the relay to open the gate.

Capacity:

It supports up to 2000 users, making it suitable for large-scale residential or commercial sites.

Technical Highlights:

Featuring one digital input for a sensor and one relay output rated at 3 Amps.  Setup is handled via the Elsema App, but daily operation does not require the app.

The G5000: The Automation Workhorse

The G5000 is an Input/Output (I/O) Controller built for a broader automation and monitoring rather than the simple access control. Best suited for Industrial, commercial and agricultural applications such as Sports Field Lighting, Sewer pump stations and irrigation systems.

Key Advantages:

It offers four relay outputs (rated at 8 Amps) that can be triggered via SMS commands.  It also includes two digital and two analog (4-20mA) inputs for real time monitoring of sensors like tank levels or alarms.

Capacity:

Supports up to 250 users

Technical Highlights:

Setup is performed using a Windows Based Desktop App via Bluetooth, which allows for bulk user management via Excel and access to a 1000 event history log.

The G5000+:  The Advanced Powerhouse

The G5000+ provides the same physical hardware as the G5000 but includes advanced software features for complex requirements.  Best for Multi-site control, large scale deployments and environments requiring Machine to Machine (M2M) automation.

Key Advantages:

It expands the user capacity to 2000 users and introduces customisable alert configurations and M2M capabilities for advanced workflows.

Best suited for Highly automated infrastructure, complex utility asset management and monitoring remote, unattended sites.
